How to read this ranking
Every value is calculated from the same simplified boundary geometry used by the interactive map. This makes the ranking internally consistent and suitable for visual comparison across the full atlas.
Limitations
Mapped area is not a cadastral or treaty measurement. Coastline simplification, disputed-boundary treatment and dependencies merged into parent geometries can make it differ from an official statistical area.
