How to read this ranking

GDP per capita divides an economy's aggregate current-dollar GDP by its midyear population. It is useful for comparing average economic output per person, while total GDP answers a different question about the overall size of an economy.

Limitations

GDP per capita is not household income, median earnings, wealth, purchasing power or wellbeing. Current-dollar values also move with exchange rates and price changes, and the latest reference year can differ across profiles.

53 of the 238 mapped profiles currently have no imported value for this indicator. EqualAtlas leaves those profiles out of the ranking rather than treating missing data as zero.
